Jim Allen is a fulltime writer and photographer with five published books on four-wheel drive, three on Jeeps, and two more on the way. After a stint in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he spent 20 years a a professional auto tech before "retiring" to writing. He also spent three years as an off-highway driving instructor for a major 4x4 manufacturer. He lives in Western Colorado.
