For someone who loves fashion but can't draw, this was a lifesaver! Definitely would purchase again!
I got this for my 12 year old niece who is getting into fashion design as a hobby. I was a little worried as to what I was getting until it arrived. It does away with the cartoony design prints that are prevalent in a lot of other kids design kits, and look much more "professional". It is made of heavy stock paper and cardboard (for the covers) and has TONS of sheets with the faint outline of a woman's body in different poses all throughout it. The first couple pages have tons of basics and definitions and suggestions for design as well, which was handy. Definitely worth the purchase.

LOVE this is exactly what I’ve needed. Keep in mind the size is larger - I was thinking a smaller spiral bound book. The figures are light enough to not be distracting while sketching, and proportionally accurate. So happy!
I do a lot of drawing and I am currently working on a degree in Fashion Design. Personally, I HATE drawing croquis. This sketchbook solved that problem! They are great for drawing on and for copying. I haven't had any problems using them to make copies of the designs and I love that the lines don't transfer. I've tried several mediums on the paper and they all have done really well, even watercolor works (although the pages are a little thin for a heavy coat of watercolor). I think the price is reasonable and worth every penny!
Good pad for the price, with some caveats:1) There are maybe twelve poses, max.2) Of those poses, only TWO are back poses, and another two are side-ish poses.3) The pages with four figures on each page are all one pose. I would have preferred a front, two side, and a back pose(s) on each page, rather than four front poses, so that I can design my garment from all views.4) The 'printer-invisible' lines are very hard to see in some lighting--like most medium-wattage household lighting. I have to trace over it in pencil in order to see it.If none of the above matter to you, then this is a great pad. It matters to me somewhat, but I'll make this pad work.
I like the way that the various poses of the Croque is offered again and again so a student can pick it up at anytime and use a completed figure to sketch an apparel design, however there are some technical problems with the drawings that are significant and break the most important rules of the Croque pose. The balance line is not being considered sucessfully. The leg of the highest hip is used to balance the entire body. It has to cross the balance line through the center of the Croque at the ankle in order to accurately represent the figures ability to obtain and maintain balance, even in movement. After duplicating one of the poses offered by the book I realized the pose fails to understand and reflect the importance of balance. While still attractive, the finished drawing clearly fails to convey a sense of groundedness.
Useful book. The only problem is that the figures are VERY faint. If you have a very bright light to work under, and 2020 vision, it will work. The paper quality is very good though, I especially like that it will not show erasure marks at all, so if you make a mistake in your design, that is helpful.
