Sky is a waitress raising her two nephews. Beast is a dragon who is hundreds of years old and came to our world 80 years ago. They meet when Sky's nephews trespass on Beast's property. What follows is at times, laugh out loud funny. Beast is stuck in his old ways and is quite clueless when it comes to handling a human female. There are a few things he discovers he does like about this world which are great. Sky wants a normal life with her nephews and being with a dragon isn't exactly normal. I love the characters and their interactions with each other. My heart went out to the boys but I still wanted to hit Casey upside the head. I can't wait to meet the other dragons in the future books.
Beast is exactly what you would expect of a dragon whose mind is still set in the old world. His reactions after he meets Sky, his mate, are priceless, especially his threats “to bite the heads off the little human malesâ€. Their interactions with each other are so genuine. Sky’s confusion and desperation to hold on to her “normal†life are emotions with which you can easily empathize. I loved Beast and Sky. Their characters were interesting and fun to read about. This is a fast-paced, very engaging love story from beginning to end. You will find it hard to put down. I recommend this very enjoyable story and can’t wait for the next in this new series!
It's a very good start to a new series. Good character development and a nice storyline. I had a little difficulty with her being so hard-headed but the idea is he was rushing her and I think it could have been explained if the book hadn't peered somewhat rushed. I think a little more time could have been spent in that regard. Also it just seem to end rather abruptly. A little more work could have been done toward the end or an epilogue that would have explained how everything worked out well. All in all still a very good book
Sky, a waitress, meets Beast, a dragon, when she goes to pick up her nephews after they trespassed on his land. As the story progresses there are moments of joy, anger, sadness and healing. By providing realistic relationship issues within a paranormal setting Fire Breathing Beast is a great start to the new Dragon's of the Bayou series.
This was the first book I read by this author, and holy mackerel it won’t be the last!! This was an amazing read, funny and romantic all in the same wide swaths. Beast is everything that you would think that a dragon shifter would be, stuck in his ways is only one of the many things! Sky was the best woman that could ever be paired with him, she understood what strain and responsibility were and I think that made their connection even deeper.This was a great story, and I have started to buy more of this author’s work.
I like this author and this is great start to a new series.No cliffhanger, some steamy scenes, no cheating and an HEA!I loved Sky, the female lead. Finally a strong woman able to put her foot down when needed! I loved this book and look forward to the next in series!
Very well written and recommended. This is funny, exciting, suspenseful, emotional and so much more. He is a dragon from another planet. Doesn't think much of humans. And then he finds his mate and is lost and just follows her around. She is raising her nephews and having trouble with them along with her new follower now. I enjoyed this read so much. I highly recommend it.
She is a strong willed aunt who has custatey of her nefews, he was a dragon that wanted to be left alone, read to find out what happens.
