As other comments have stated, the book's page order goes a little wacky at page 65. Luckily I was reading to my daughter this night when she was ill, as I'm not sure a new reader would have caught on to the problem. Overall we aren't too impressed with the storyline: The characters have great personality, I like the Texan accent that comes through. We use ASL with our toddlers, so my daughter was re-introduced to signing via the deaf character Abby and has branched out to do some of her own research on signs... so that was a great influence. But as far as gymnastics go, Kylie Jean doing the splits on day 1 was pretty frustrating to my little gymnast, and the big competition taking place 2 weeks after her first class is, well, unrealistic at best. This was our first Kylie Jean book and I'm not thinking it was good enough to explore others.
I bought this book for my niece for Christmas who loves the Kylie Jean series and she loves gymnastics. She started to read the book and was loving it, until she got to about page 65 and the rest of the book had the pages out of order. You have to flip flop back and forth to read the last 20 or so pages of the book. I returned the book to Amazon and received a replacement book. Low and behold the same thing. I contacted the publisher to let them know and they apologized and said they would make a note of it for the next printing in April.I am again returning the book to Amazon, for a refund this time.
My 7 year old daughter loves this series! Kylie Jean is a great story!
My daughter loves this book! Her name is Kyleigh also and she does gymnastics so it was a hit.
Great book for a 7 year old. It has a cute story line and held her attention.
Pages are out of order. Bought this for a school library. Don't see any way to return the item. Not cool!!
